Mazatlan, Sinaloa. – The famous “Changueras” in Mazatlan are one of the main and busiest points in the port when it comes to buying seafood, not only because of the tradition they have had for years on Aquiles Serdán street, but also because of the quality of their products. , becoming the seafood market par excellence.
Local vendors reported having obtained stable sales during this holiday period, closing July with a great economic recovery compared to the first months of the year.
“If things have gone well for us, there are a lot of tourists who come to buy shrimp, or callus, one or another fish, which is used more than anything to make ceviche, and right now we have had a good assortment,” commented Mario, a seafood merchant.
Having a good season in the assortment of their products, the prices they handle are varied but accessible, and depend on the size of the product, being that a kilo of shrimp can be found from 90 pesos, up to 240, among other products such as crab , octopus, ax callus and an infinite variety along the street.
The Changueras start with the sale from 6:00 a.m. and conclude at 7:00 p.m. every day, being the main option for both locals and tourists who visit the port, who in turn support the economy of the merchants and fishermen engaged in this business.
“It is good to buy with us, the product is very fresh, and what one does not have, the other has, even if it is not the season for something, the variety will never be lacking, and that is why we do well when there are people” he concluded.
