With a spill of more than 5 million pesos, they will leave some conventions in the destination and in November they will have the presence of the Secretary of Federal Tourism
MAZATLAN. – The Secretary of Economic Development, Tourism and Fisheries of Mazatlan, Ricardo Velarde Cárdenas, stated that during the 2022 Tianguis Turístico the maximum event of the Mexican Association of Hotels and Motels AC was officially closed, which will take place in the November in the city.
He said that the Annual Convention of the AMHyM where 100 years of this recognized and important association will be celebrated, will be a showcase for some investments since the change of the board of directors will take place.
“The AMHyM convention is estimated to leave an economic spill of 3.4 million pesos during this great event, in addition, an agreement was signed with tour operators that will have their convention this year in the city, and will represent a spill of 1.7 million pesos”, Said Velarde Cárdenas.
The official stated that the presence of 260 owners of associated hotels is estimated and that Miguel Torruco Marqués, secretary of Federal Tourism, will also be present. While in the Touropeadores event it will have 100 owners.
In terms of air connectivity, he reported that the work was important, having meetings with Aeroméxico, TAR and Vivaaerobus where, as with the talks held with Volaris, it was agreed to carry out a joint work plan to be able to have new routes connecting Mazatlan with new markets, such as the Bajío area, Mexicali and El Paso, Texas, as well as reinforcing the CDMX and border routes.
“Unfortunately or fortunately, the rates are subject to supply and demand, and currently the flights arrive with everything, right now the alternative is to increase the offer, which is what is being worked on,” he mentioned.
Finally, he added that, although the state government has the resources to attract these flights, Mazatlán is reinforcing the generation of interest, by showing great benefits.
