So far, the only permits granted for Holy Week are for the Mazatlán Fest and Sunset Paradise events.

Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- No later than this Friday it will be defined if there will be an increase in the capacity of Mazatlán businesses for the Easter holiday period.

The Senior Official of the City Council, Nayla Velarde Narváez, reported that there is still no progress on this issue, nor in terms of the musicians’ request to extend work hours. The only permits granted are for Mazatlán Fest (April 14-16) and Sunset Paradise (April 13-16), which will take place this Easter at the port.

“ Between today and tomorrow this issue of capacity will come up… it will be very positive, but it still has to be defined, there are many issues on the table, not just talking about a green traffic light, there are many factors that involve the issue of giving a 100 percent at a traffic light or continuing with 80, or maybe 90, are directly Civil Protection issues, due to the number of tourists expected and hotel occupancy, the crowds in some places influence, so they are assessing the issue ”, he explained.

The municipal official said that the protocols will continue, despite being at a green light.

However, he specified that the final decision could be made by both Governor Rubén Rocha Moya and the Mayor himself, Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres.
