Before the opening of the “Felipe Ángeles” International Airport, other airports in the country will seek ways to remodel and adapt with first-class technology, as will happen with the , which will modernize its facilities.
The vice president of the Confederation of National Chambers of Commerce, Guillermo Romero Rodríguez, mentioned that this news is new and that, without a doubt, it will achieve a new interior for the corridors of the “Rafael Buelna”.
“Changes are coming, remodeling is coming, you are going to see impressive changes for the summer, it is going to be modernized, it has had changes, but it is going to be much better, the airports are going to be put at a very impressive level,” he declared.
Romero Rodríguez pointed out that according to the information provided by the OMA administration about the local airport, the changes will be more practical, both for national and international tourists, the arrival halls will be shorter and their structure will facilitate their transfer from one place to another.
“The information I have is that there will be accesses, you will no longer have to go through the entire corridor, it lacked refrigeration, it is long, now you are going to arrive and go up and you will go directly to the rooms, they will be the exit doors, you will walk less, it will be more practical”, he said.
The national vice president of Concanaco added that there are airports such as Los Cabos, in Baja California Sur, and Cancun, Quintana Roo, which are modern, with high technology, and very practical, therefore, the airport of a destination such as of the «Pearl of the Pacific» has to be modernized.
So far, the administration of the Mazatlan International Airport has not released detailed information on the modernization project, nor the resource they will exercise for such.
It was in 2014 when the administration remodeled the facade of the building, where they invested around 108 million pesos.

The project also included the expansion of the terminal building, improvement works in the ambulatory area, as well as in registration and documentation points for customers and luggage. The number of health services, the remodeling of the administrative office area, and the increase in the commercial offer for the passenger also increased.
On the air side, the executive aviation platform was rehabilitated, thereby optimizing the safety of airport operations, and two state-of-the-art telescopic walkways were acquired, which allow passengers to board and arrive safely.
