MAZATLAN.- The Mazatlan International Center, MIC, reactivated its agenda of congresses and conventions with the first symposium of the Sinaloa International Mining Congress 2022.

This event, according to Ricardo Velarde Cárdenas, Secretary of Economic Development, Tourism and Fisheries of Mazatlan, is estimated to have an economic impact of between 15 and 20 million pesos in the port.

“Mining is a great generator of high-level employment sources, it is an area of ​​opportunity for this region and we want to take advantage of it together with you,” said the official in his participation in the inaugural event.

Velarde highlighted the importance that the Congresses and Conventions segment has for Mazatlán, commenting that it is the opportunity to promote an increase in hotel occupancy from Monday to Thursday, since currently the destination has significant occupancy levels on weekends.
