The double arrival brought 6,514 passengers and crew onboard to the port, which translates into a greater economic benefit.

Mazatlan, Sinaloa.- In recent weeks, the arrival of tourists to Mazatlan aboard tourist cruises has increased. This Wednesday the boats “Koningsdam” and the “Carnival Panorama” arrived with more than 6,500 passengers and crew.

At 7:15 a.m. from Cabo San Lucas, the “Koningsdam” entered the port with 732 passengers and 878 crew members, to resume its journey at 6:00 p.m. to Puerto Vallarta.

At 9:00 a.m., the “Carnival Panorama” did the same, coming from Puerto Vallarta with 3,550 passengers and 1,354 passengers to set sail for Cabo San Lucas at 6:00 p.m.

Shipping agent Giancarlo Parolari González confirmed that as of this month, the Florida and Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA) has authorized raising the capacity of ships arriving in Mazatlan to 75%.

He explained that the ships will have an increase in their capacity, which translates into greater economic benefits, since each cruise passenger who goes down to the port spends an average of around 75 dollars each.

“ The ships now in March come with greater capacity, more passengers come on board. Look, it had been handled at 50% of the capacity of the cruise ships, and I understand, although there are no official figures, but I understand that it goes up to 75% and obviously, the impact is positive, ”he said.

Parolari González assured that the ships will continue to operate under strict health protocols, to avoid contagion of Covid-19.
