Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- The administrator of the Mazatlán international airport, Rafael Buelna Tenorio, Víctor Vladimir Ramírez del Ángel, assured that the month of January closed with 11 percent in national and international flights, compared to 2019 that has been the best year.

The federal official added that they are currently located in arrivals at 56 percent, compared to 2021, with the expectation that in the coming weeks it will improve even more.

“The first month of 2022 we closed with 11 percent compared to 2019, which has been the best year, and 56 percent compared to 2021,” he said.

Ramírez del Ángel added that so far in the first week of February they are already 7 percent up.

“What does it mean, that despite the fact that the pandemic situation continues, we maintain positive numbers,” he asserted.

He calculated that for the next few weeks of the months of February and March, due to the dates of Carnival, as well as for Easter, the flow of visitors will be greater with positive numbers.

“The largest increase is in domestic flights, the Tijuana, Mexico, Monterrey routes and the reactivation of flights to the United States, the new route to San Francisco and the reactivation of the 5 flights to Canada, have also added to the increase since in 2021 we did not have those flights,” he asserted.

Finally, Ramírez del Ángel added that the guidelines to prevent contagion by Covid 19 are strictly complied with the already known health protocols.
