“We as a destination and the shipping companies themselves are super strict, so, in case of detecting an infected passenger, they isolate themselves immediately, and we too, as tour operators, have the protocols and all the training to isolate the person, take them either to a health center, to a hospital, and even back to the ship, if someone with symptoms is detected,” he said.
The cruise industry was one of the hardest hit by the health pandemic, because while some activities resumed four months after it was decreed, tourist ships had to wait 17 months, from March 2020 to August 2021, to resume. its services.
