Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- The new Mar de Cortés Aquarium will be the attractive anchor of Mazatlán, said the federal Secretary of Tourism, Miguel Torruco Marqués.

When inaugurating The Beatles monument in the Liverpool alley in Olas Altas, he stressed that this aquarium will be among the largest in Latin America.

He commented that in Mazatlan, today a new tourist product is added to the existing ones, the Callejón Liverpool, where you can see the Monument to The Beatles, the famous English quartet that emerged in the ’60s.

He recommended that in order to increase the occupancy of the square, which is 58% per year, 20 additional events are required to meet the objective, for which he proposed to start with The Beatles festival.

During his work tour of Mazatlán, he pointed out that in the Mexican government headed by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, one of the main objectives is tourism and that it has become a challenge to increase the foreign exchange income of international visitors. to the country.

“We are aware that to face this challenge it is necessary to extend the stay of tourists, offering more and better tourism products in accordance with the expectations and requirements of an increasingly demanding tourist,” he said.

In this sense, Torruco Marqués announced that they are working intensively on the regional integration of the tourism product to make Mexico a more competitive country that lives up to its potential.

“With this purpose of regional inclusion, I have met with the governors of Sinaloa and Durango and investors and businessmen in such a way that each one develops a tourist product that we have called anchor and that from this we will configure complementary tourist circuits that detonate the economy. of the plaza, entity, and region”, he concluded.
