The mayor will hold a meeting with different departments such as SEDECTUR, Social Welfare, Mayor’s Office, City Council Secretariat and Culture.
MAZATLAN.- Will there be Carnival or not? It is the question that has been a trend in recent weeks and according to the mayor, Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres, deciding whether to carry out the great Mazatlan party could be through a citizen consultation equal to last year, but with a little change, entrepreneurs and merchants would also be asked.
Why? Benítez Torres reported that it is important for the municipal government to have the opinion of all sectors of society in Mazatlán.
“I am not guaranteeing it. We have not decided yet, but it is very likely to consult again with the theme of the Carnival”, he expressed.
He explained that today he will hold a meeting with different departments such as SEDECTUR, Social Welfare, Mayor’s Office, City Council Secretary and Culture to analyze and study the possible scenarios in relation to the maximum festival of the port. The objective of this meeting is to establish a dialogue with the different departments and see the options and possibilities that are available.
Once a decision is reached, the proposal would be presented to the governor of Sinaloa, Rubén Rocha Moya, so that he can also give his opinion on the matter.
If they decide to carry out a citizen consultation, together with businessmen and merchants, this would take place next week, since the date of the Carnival is already very close.
“Either we postpone it, we cancel it, or we do it. Once we have the proposal with bases and arguments, we are going to consult it with the state governor”, he pointed out.
