The municipal president urged citizens to abide by the health guidelines and always wear face masks because it is the only way to stop contagion.

Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- Mazatlán has been experiencing an exponential increase in patients infected by the SARS-COV-2 virus for a week and not only that, now that there is talk that apparently the first case of “ Flurona ”; COVID and Influenza together, has been detected in Mazatlan, the authorities have intensified preventive measures to reduce the risks of contagion, said Mayor Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres.

The municipal president was concerned about such a situation, and for this reason, he asked the citizens to abide by the health guidelines and always use face masks because it is the only way to stop contagion, especially because life has to go on, despite the COVID pandemic.

“Look, in all the cities of Mexico and the world, life continues the same despite what we are living here, we do not have to magnify it, everything is going to change, it is a matter of patience and that each one takes responsibility for their actions.”

“If there is no green traffic light, then there is no Carnival and epidemiological traffic lights do not depend on the municipality, they depend on the national and state government, mainly the National Health Council,” he declared.

Benítez Torres trusts that active COVID cases will begin to decline in one or two more weeks because Mazatlán is already going through its highest “peak” of infections, and in this vein, he called on companies and the general population to be extremely careful to that the health situation improves at the destination.
