Mazatlán, Sinaloa. – Throughout Sinaloa there are 1,570 beds available to treat patients with severe symptoms of Covid-19, of which only 75 are occupied, representing only 5 percent of the total.

In an investigation carried out by Reacción Informativa, it was observed that as soon as the month of January began, the positive cases of Covid-19 reached figures never before seen since 2020, even exceeding the peak year of infections. It is striking that, Contrary to the decrease in hospitalizations in relation to cases, the severity of infections has decreased considerably.

In the case of Culiacán, which is the municipality with the most active positive cases so far (1,505), it maintains its hospital service with only 50 occupied beds, that is, 8 percent of its capacity, it should be mentioned that the same situation is repeated in all municipalities.

It is important to note that, of the 100 percent of infections registered by health institutions, it was found that 96 percent of them had completed their vaccination scheme, predominantly those immunized with AstraZeneca, followed by Pfizer and Sinovac, thus composing the effectiveness of the inoculations.
