Alfredo Ruelas Solís, president of the organization Codesin mentioned that the destination already had a great path as the favorite for these events, but the pandemic stopped the ‘boom’
Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- The Council for the Economic Development of the southern area of Sinaloa (Codesin) will not remove its finger from the line to ensure that in Mazatlan there is an Office of Congresses and Conventions that allows it to compete and position itself as a destination for this type of event, exposed its president.
Alfredo Ruelas Solís, explained that this body would have the exclusive responsibility of promoting and selling the so-called “Pearl of the Pacific” as an ideal place for these meetings that annually leave important economic spills, and even, the port before the pandemic was placed as one of the organizers’ favorite places.
“We have no other interest in Codesin, but that this is a reality for the state and especially for this region of southern Sinaloa and specifically Mazatlán, we are not going to take our finger off the line.”
In that sense, he said, the pandemic has prevented congresses and conventions of doctors, accountants, lawyers and concerts with internationally renowned artists from being reactivated, so they also trust that the emergency will diminish to resume them one hundred percent, although already Some events have been held and others are scheduled for the following year.
Ruelas Solís, indicated that with the promotion of Mazatlán the destination would be above destinations that are exclusively dedicated to these segments such as Monterrey, in Nuevo León, León, Guanajuato, Guadalajara in Jalisco and even Mérida, Yucatán.
He reported that currently Codesin and the Convention Center itself, together with the state and municipal authorities, continue in the work of construction of the project and its consolidation, however, there are no estimated dates for it to materialize and become a reality.
