Mazatlán reveals 2022 will be record-breaking for Cruise Ship arrivals

The Undersecretary of Planning, Investment and Tourism Development of the Sectur, Juan José Ruiz González, revealed that the arrival of 160 ships is estimated throughout the next year.

Mazatlán, Sin.- The month of November closed with the arrival of 16 tourist cruises and about 55 thousand passengers and crew, in addition to an economic spill of more than 40 million pesos.

This Tuesday, the Majestic Princess ship arrived at port, with 1,362 passengers and 1,215 crew members on board, which will reactivate the demand for services related to tourism.

At 8:00 am the ship entered from Cabo San Lucas and at 6:00 pm it is scheduled to depart for Puerto Vallarta.

Thousands of cruise ship passengers and crew have been seen walking along the Malecón, touring its beaches, the Historic Center, as well as various attractions in the rural area.

During the month of December there will be an increase in the arrival of ships, since, according to the cruise arrivals schedule of the Comprehensive Port Administration of Mazatlán, there are 28 arrivals of six shipping lines scheduled for December.

The Undersecretary of Planning, Investment and Tourism Development of the Sectur, Juan José Ruiz González, announced that with the recovery of cruise ships since October, this year will close with the arrival of 65 ships in the port.

In addition, he revealed that a historical record is expected for 2022 as the arrival of 160 cruise ships is estimated throughout the year.

“We already begin to receive cruises from October, 65 arrivals are expected, for next year 160 arrivals, it would be a historical record for Mazatlan, we are hoping that the issue of the Covid pandemic can be controlled to grow with foreign visitors,” he concluded.
