Both hydraulic works are considered national security and cannot be stopped by any lawsuit or protestors, says Governor

The governor of Sinaloa, Rubén Rocha Moya, said that the Santa María and Picachos de Concordia and Rosario dams were shielded against any type of protection that seeks to stop their construction, this during the “weekly” press conference.

He said that both hydraulic projects were protected by a presidential decree so that the two works considered “national security” cannot be stopped by any protection.

“There is a presidential decree out there to protect the public works considered national security, which by the way there are two of ours, the Picachos and Santa María dams. Why? Because they are hydraulic works,” he said.

The President of the Republic, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, signed a decree last week to protect all public works of the federal government against the amparos, and thus prevent the works from being stopped due to legal procedures.

They will finally use the theme park in Culiacán

The theme park “Más Culiacán”, which opened its doors in 2015 by former governor Mario López Valdez, had a cost of 476 million pesos and after two years closed its doors because it was not profitable, finally will once again have use, said the Governor of the state.

Rocha Moya commented that this place will be used for the moment to enable laboratories, workshops, and other areas that belong to the Science Center, which after its remodeling were left adrift.

“It is a work that had a significant cost for the state, so it is time for these facilities to be used merely for educational purposes,” he said.

The governor stressed that it can also be used by students from the Colegio de Bachilleres de Sinaloa (COBAES), so that instead of renting, they can take their classes there.
