Mazatlan locals surveyed about Carnival is its a YES or NO

As previously stated by the municipal president of Mazatlán, Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres, it is a fact that the Mazatlán International Carnival 2022 will take place and there will be no public consultation on the matter, which has caused quite a few divided opinions on the subject.

Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- What do Mazatlecos think about the Carnival? Informative Reaction carried out a survey in order to find out different opinions of citizens on this issue.

The vast majority agree and show all their support to carry out the maximum Mazatlan party since it has not been lived for two years due to pandemic reasons.

“Carnival is needed now, the party is needed” comments Agustín Tirado, merchant of the port, “I think that with the appropriate measures it can be made to work” he continues with his opinion on the subject.

However, just as a large part of the population raises their voices of joy and excitement over the event, there is also the part that does not agree, as they affirm, it is irresponsible and there is a risk of the spread of infections if they were to take place out massive events, regardless of the measurements.

On the other hand, some tourists in the area are also pleased with the news, to the point of wanting to return to the port of Mazatlán on those dates, “In fact, we just found out, and it has never touched us, of course, I would like to come” expressed Rosa María, a visitor from Querétaro.

Although it is a fact, attendance at Carnival events and activities clearly depends on the criteria of each citizen and visitor to the area.
