Although the working hours have increased, the rainfall does not allow the placement of concrete.

The modernization work on Avenida Gabriel Leyva is continuing beyond what was planned, due to obstacles caused by the rains of recent weeks, which have constantly flooded the work areas, so the inauguration is postponed to October 7, reported the Secretary of Public Works of the State Government, Osbaldo López Angulo.

As every week, the meeting of construction companies and municipal and state officials was held to evaluate the progress made by each of the construction companies participating in the work.

Engineer Tonatiuh Guerra Martínez, Director of Municipal Welfare and Social Development, mentioned that according to the project, the new Gabriel Leyva will be a first-rate avenue, with the characteristics and industrial capacity to provide access to the port of Mazatlán.

“When we listen to Gabriel Leyva, the first thing that comes to mind is that it has been a very complicated work, especially due to the age of this avenue, and it is that with so many setbacks, storms, and problems to supply material to the construction companies, it has been difficult to complete its realization ”, acknowledged the official.

However, during the modernization, potable water pipes that were up to 70 years old are being renewed, which are those that supply the city center.
