Mazatlan public transport anti-covid measures agreement with drivers

Pulmonias, safaris, and urban transport must have a separator to protect drivers and users, announced Commissioner Juan Ramón Alfaro Gaxiola.

Representatives of the transport sector of the city committed with the authorities of Municipal Security, Traffic, and Civil Protection of Mazatlán, to abide by and reinforce the sanitary protocols to protect the health of drivers and users.

During a meeting, Commissioner Juan Ramón Alfaro Gaxiola; the deputy director of Transit, Jesús Antonio Estrada Díaz; and the head of PC, Eloy Ruiz Gastélum with the leaders of the unions, reviewed the actions that are carried out to prevent the spread of Covid-19 infections, and jointly reached agreements.

Among them, the installation of acrylics in pneumonia, safaris and urban buses stands out; respect for the number of people who are allowed in the aurigas, with a maximum of 8 and that all must go in the rear, while in pulmonias they may travel up to 4; face masks are mandatory for all public transport and rental drivers, as well as for users.

Alfredo Figueroa Hernández, General Secretary of Taxis Rojos; Germán Escobar García, Representative of the Union of Pulmonías and Alberto Arámburo Gaxiola, general secretary of Aurigas, highlighted the openness of the authorities for dialogue and analysis of the problem.

“It was a very pleasant meeting, where the authority gives us the facility to get to work, as long as we comply with an acrylic that is going to be put on our units and protect both the Mazatlan population and the tourist … It was a meeting to make agreements and on our part is to comply with the commitments for the benefit of our members and passengers, and on the part of the authority, allow us the fourth passenger … The recommendation for us is not to carry passengers in front, and ony 8 in the rear, sanitize the units, use antibacterial gel, use the mask and invite people to use facemask as well so that the pandemic does not grow more ”, they pointed out separately.

For his part, the head of the SSPyTM said that a deadline was given until next Monday for the installation of acrylics or separators.

“It is the indication that we have from the municipal president, to reach an agreement with the transport leaders. They are happy and we hope that these days they will begin to see acrylics in pulmonias and that the same drivers will begin to comply with the provisions and tell the passenger to use the mask since it is mandatory ”.

The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Urban buses, Safari and Green Taxi Alliances, who were told that the awareness-raising and review operations of the agreements made will continue permanently, as well as in public places such as restaurants. , bars and entertainment centers.
