Municipal lifeguards rescued 4 people during the day, three from Durango and one more from Coahuila.

This Sunday afternoon, three tourists who were swept by ocean currents were rescued by elements of the Squadron Aquatic Rescue of the Municipal Police of Mazatlan. In addition, another tourist was supported who was injured after falling from a water game.

The rescue of the three people was recorded around 15:30 in the afternoon according to the informational part of the Ministry of Public Security and Municipal Traffic (SSPyTM) to which the elements of the aquatic squad belong, in the beach area of Cerritos, located north of Mazatlán.

It was indicated that the lifeguards assigned to the aforementioned beach area observed that 3 people had difficulty getting out of the sea, they went to them and managed to help them return to the beach, they indicated that they had difficulty getting out of the sea due to fatigue.

They are 20-year-old Mauricio, 15-year-old Alma, and 13-year-old Diego from the state of Durango.

Later, on Isla de la Piedra, municipal lifeguards were alerted that a 16-year-old tourist from Torreón, Coahuila, named Xochitl, apparently had a fracture, for which she was transferred to a hospital for treatment. medical care. 

The young woman had been injured when she fell from a banana, so they went to the scene, as did paramedics from Caresur.
