Agueda Zambada García, older sister of the well-known Mexican drug trafficker Ismael ‘El Mayo‘ Zambada, died on Sunday, May 30.
According to reports, Agueda died in a clinic in the port of Mazatlán, Sinaloa, due to a stroke and the wake was held at the San Martín Montebello funeral home in the city of Culiacán.
So far it is unknown where her burial was, although it is speculated that it would have been in the Jardines del Humaya pantheon.
Images of flower arrangements that were sent by Ismael ‘El Mayo’ Zambada and his son Vicente Zambada Niebla, ‘El Vicentillo’, circulate on social networks.
In 2010 Zambada García was captured along with her daughter and her granddaughter by armed individuals outside the Tijuana Airport; days later they were released by members of the Army.
