Oaxaca de Juárez.– Given the relevance of air connectivity as a great bridge for national and international tourism and a trigger for the economy, Governor Alejandro Murat Hinojosa visited Puerto Escondido, a tourist destination on the Coast, on Friday to inaugurate the flight of the Aeroméxico airline on its new Mexico City-Puerto Escondido route, which will operate through seven frequencies a week with capacity for 99 passengers.
With this new route, the company is operating in the three main destinations in Oaxaca, which include the capital and Huatulco.
According to the Oaxaca government, the opening of this new route represents an increase of 2,980 seats available per month for this Oaxacan destination.
When making the event official in the company of company representatives, Murat declared that in these difficult times due to the health contingency, the flow of visitors to Oaxaca has been strongly affected, but the guard has not been lowered to boost tourist activity. which is essential for the state and for the thousands of families who depend on the visit of those who choose to rest on the Oaxacan beaches, placing them among the preferred ones worldwide.
He stressed that with this new route, support for Oaxaca is demonstrated, with a great sense of responsibility and dynamism in the 11 months of this pandemic, maintaining a constant flow of flights to the main destinations of the entity.
This, he assured, is possible thanks to the implementation of “the strictest health security protocols by the entire tourism industry.”
Oaxaca maintains air connectivity with 25 active routes and 164 weekly frequencies .
“With the national and international airlines, Oaxaca creates, builds and grows because air connectivity will always be a platform for well-being and an engine of the economy,” said the governor, announcing that during the period after the confinement, the reactivation of several national and international routes such as Oaxaca – Dallas Fort Worth – Oaxaca; Dallas Fort Worth – Huatulco, and Los Angeles – Oaxaca, with American Airlines and Volaris.
Juan Carlos Rivera Castellanos, Secretary of Tourism, added that this act meets a demand from the tourism sector to maintain air connectivity with various airlines. He pointed out that this new route that was achieved derived from the offer in tourist markets and in the Tourism Advisory Council that meets every quarter of the year.
During this event, the Vivo Resorts hotel in Puerto Escondido received the Safe Travels seal granted by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), for its acronym in English) and endorsed by the World Tourism Organization, which certifies companies and destinations that comply with all hygiene and sanitation measures established in the corresponding protocols.
With this certification, tourists can identify destinations and companies around the world that have adopted the health and hygiene standards of the World Travel and Tourism Council so that they can experience safe travel.
