The Day of the Dead and Halloween festivities were the perfect excuse for several people to host parties, even though mass events are prohibited by the COVID-19 coronavirus. Just last weekend, the authorities in Coahuila attended 234 reports about this type of gatherings.

“A total of 234 reports of parties were received during Saturday, October 31st, and until 04:00 hours today Sunday in Torreón, a figure that far exceeds the highest number that had been had in a weekend in previous months, which was 120 reports, “ said the Government of Coahuila.

Through a statement, the government of Coahuila reported that municipal and state authorities carried out a special operation to protect the health of citizens, which served to sanction several businesses for violating the protocols against COVID-19 and to dissolve a number of parties.

“As a result of these actions, the purpose of which is to avoid mass meetings in which the coronavirus can spread, in La Laguna two country houses, a restaurant bar, were closed and several parties were dispersed, two of them with a significant number of people. “

The Government of the State of Coahuila, in coordination with the municipalities of La Laguna, carried out surveillance operations during these days when the Day of the Dead and Halloween festivities are celebrated.

The state government asked the civil society to maintain preventive health measures against the COVID-19 coronavirus, during these holidays, and especially to avoid crowded places, which are a latent risk of contagion.
