Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- “With an investment of 738 thousand pesos, the facilities that will operate as the new Animal Welfare and Attention Center will be remodeled and adapted”, reported the director of Ecology and Environment, Lourdes Sanjuan Gallardo.

She assured that the Town Planning, Ecology, and Public Works Commission will rule on the Animal Protection and Sustainable Development regulations.

She indicated that the resource was approved for the remodeling of the property where the Animal Welfare Center will operate, which will start with a capacity of 12 cages for dogs and 10 more for felines.

The facilities will have everything necessary to operate as a permanent sterilization and veterinary care and emergency care center for dogs and cats, with a reception room, office, operating room, shelter areas for convalescent animals, a bathroom, warehouse and recreation area where animals can walk and exercise during their stay at the shelter.

New municipal regulations for the Protection of Animals and Sustainable Development were reviewed by the Commission for Urbanism, Ecology, and Public Works and passed to the City Council for approval.
