This meteorological system does not maintain its course towards the Sinaloa coasts; more rains are expected throughout this Wednesday
Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- Tropical Storm “Cristina” surprised this morning with heavy rains in Mazatlan, causing flooding in some of the main streets and avenues of the city.
Hugo Nordahl Valdés, head of the Local Weather Service, explained that the rains are expected to continue at least this Wednesday.
He also pointed out that although the storm is not heading towards the Mexican coasts, it will be important to observe its behavior in the coming hours.
“We have Tropical Storm Cristina; We have a low-pressure channel extended in the highlands, rather this is a very powerful band that broke off from Cristina, advancing through southern Sinaloa. “
“As long as the system is there in the Pacific, parallel to the coast, it could continue (raining),” he said.
Nordahl Valdés specified that until this morning there was only a report of rains in the South of the State.
