The different dependencies will check that the sanitary protocols are complied with
Mazatlan, Sinaloa.- Houses and apartments for vacation rental must have strict sanitation protocols, or else they could be closed by different government entities, warned the State Tourism Secretary, Óscar Pérez Barros.
He stated that he works together with Civil Protection, the State Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risks in Sinaloa and the Official Office to detect these places, monitor that they have the protocols and also regularize on the subject of taxes, otherwise they are closed.
We can close, by Coepriss, Civil Protection or the Mayor’s Office, because health is above all, but they are in the best position to catch up on health issues and regulate themselves with taxes, the problem is that they are not registered and with this, we are going to register them with the government and the Ministry of Tourism.
Pérez Barros revealed that during the confinement six establishments were closed in Mazatlán for providing their services. When there is a complaint, he added, the protocols are reviewed, even training is thought so that these establishments have the health mark to work.
With hotel associations, they know perfectly well who are the renters of that type and we are working on that, we go and tell them and we can close the establishment if the protocols are not followed because health is above all.
Óscar Pérez Barros assured that the Ministry of Tourism can offer training to those who operate these spaces in order to offer a safe service.
Mazatlan has 11 thousand hotel rooms.
9 thousand properties for vacation rental exist in Mazatlan.
