Mazatlan, Sinaloa.- At least five palapa restaurants opened their doors last week, so they hope that in the next few days the rest of the businesses that are on the beach will open.
Alfonzo, who is in charge of the Jaiba Pata Salada seafood restaurant, said that so far they have had a good sale compared to days past, since he assured that they are working under the rules of healthy distance that the municipal government is requesting.
He commented that staff from the Official Office come to supervise them and inform them how they should be dressed, how they have to work, and what separation the tables should have, as well as prohibiting the consumption of cigarettes in the place out of respect for other diners.
He stressed that when customers arrive at the palapa, they are forced to use antibacterial gel, since once they leave, waiters clean the tables and chairs to have them prepared and disinfected for the next diner.
He also explained that for each table there are four people who can be consuming, respecting the distance between table and table.
Alfonzo hopes that the other palaperos that are on the beach will reactivate soon, since he assured that this will attract more tourists and they will be able to compare prices as well as quality.
