Sunwing has reported through its website that it extends the suspension of both domestic and international flights until July 31. The Canadian airline will resume operations in August as long as the destinations in which it operates and currently, quarantine and harsh restrictions on non-essential travel allow as a measure to curb the spread of Covid-19.

The company has explained in an extensive statement that it will allow flight and vacation package reservations from August 1. It has also updated its travel policy making it more flexible for departures between August 1 and August 31, 2020, “where final payments can be provided up to 25 days before the departure date (as opposed to 45 days standard)”.

Passengers holding tickets with departure dates for flights or vacation packages between March 17 and July 31 may receive a future travel credit for the value of the original amount paid. “No action is needed, as the original reservation numbers will be the code for your future travel credit,” the company stressed.

In that sense and as “an additional gesture”, the airline has extended the validity of these credits or ‘vouchers’ to two years from the original departure date to wherever Sunwing operates, he stressed. Finally, he recalled the mandatory use of face masks to be able to board their planes.
