This was because since last year the event was announced for the first bridge in May, but with the change of date a considerable amount of motorcyclists may not attend
Mazatlan, Sinaloa.- During 2019 the City Council and Mazatlan Motoclub signed an agreement where it was agreed to hold the 2020 Motorcycle Week in the first “bridge” of the month of May. However, the municipality decided to “get ahead” and do it from March 12 to 15, which could generate a low influx of bikers, said Iván Roque, partner of Motoclub Mazatlan.
The reason, he explained, is because there is a group of motorcyclists at the national level called ‘Rolling for Mexico’ in which different associations are organized and socialize the events that will take place throughout the country.
However, with this change, he suggests, Mazatlan loses competitiveness, because on February 27 and until March 1 the bands’ Inspector ‘and’ The Creedence ‘will be in Aguascalientes and at the beginning of April,’ Inspector ‘and’ The Authentic Decadents’ will be in León, Guanajuato.
“Do you think the motorcyclist has to go to Aguascalientes and in 15 days to MAzatlan and in 15 days to León, with high caliber events? Because the events of Aguascalientes and that of León are one of the largest, ”he said.
Iván also revealed that through Rodando por México and various clubs they have expressed their support for Motoclub Mazatlán, including some Rallys in Los Angeles and California.
“Last week we were also meeting with those of the official event in Durango, which is a previous event that takes place in the Legendary Motorcycle Week to organize the descent of motorcyclists in the region of Monterrey, Saltillo, Torreón, Durango, Zacatecas … people who come from all those parts of Chihuahua and all those people come down to Mazatlan. We had a meeting and they say: ‘We are going to go with you, whatever you do, be it a big event or a small event, we are going to see what happens, but we are going with you, ”he said.
Roque says he will seek an approach with the authorities in order to enforce the agreement signed by both parties during 2019.
