15 hotels from Los Cabos attend a luxury tourism event in Cannes, France, Zero from Mazatlan

It is the first time that Los Cabos is presented as an independent destination, said the head of the Tourism Trust of the municipality

Los Cabos, Baja California Sur (BCS ). Currently, the tourist destination of Los Cabos is being promoted in the XVIII edition of the Cannes International Luxury Travel Market, being its first independent participation in the international event; 15 luxury hotels attended, said the director of the Tourism Trust of the municipality (Fiturca ), Rodrigo Esponda.

“Yes (participates), independently yes, traditionally they participated in the pavilion of Mexico , as there is now no pavilion in Mexico , it is being done independently as a destination and also has a very relevant presence with 15 hotels that are here exposing and having an appointment with more than 1,800 travel agents specialized in the luxury segment, ”he said in a radio interview. 

The hotels that attended the international event in France are: One and Only, Rosewood, Waldorf Astoria Pedregal, Esperanza, Chileno, JW, Nobú, Four Seasons, Ritz Carlton, Grand Velas, Paradisus, ME, Viceroy, Montage, The Cape.  

In that sense, the official pointed out that there is the participation of 80 countries, with which they work to improve direct connectivity from Baja California Sur to other parts of the world, including Europe, South America or Asia. 

“We are definitely looking for direct connectivity from other parts of the world, whether from Europe, South America or even from Asia, hopefully in the near future we can get it,” he said. 

Rodrigo Esponda also stressed that the tourism industry is surprised at the growth that Los Cabos has had in recent years, ensuring that other brands will arrive in the next 2 years. 

“On a global level, they are very surprised that the destination has had a growth of very relevant brands […] they are surprised by the growth that the destination has had in recent years, in luxury brands, and in addition […] there are many other brands that are coming in the next 2 years, ”he added in his speech. 

Finally, the director of Fiturca said that positive things are coming for Los Cabos in 2020, among them, greater air connectivity and the arrival of new hotels and tourism products, as well as growth in the meeting segment. 

“Very positive things will come for the destination in 2020, both in connectivity, that there are already significant increases in some airlines within North America […] there are very interesting openings of new hotels and new products,” he concluded. 

We have a very interesting project, we are changing the entire digital ecosystem, the tourism industry is taking a very wide step, we hope that in early 2020 we can already launch the new website of the destination, that this will have integrated all the digital ecosystem, that is, all tourism service providers, hotels, which will bring us much greater visibility because everything is digitally integrated, he said.
