Plans announced to connect Mazatlan and Madrid, Spain with a direct flight

Mayor Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres said it is necessary to promote Mazatlan internationally

Mazatlan, Sinaloa.- The mayor of Mazatlan, Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres, announced that there is an intention to connect Mazatlan and Madrid, Spain, through a direct flight.

The municipal official said there are already advanced talks with the Spanish embassy in Mexico, with the aim of consolidating this direct flight from the European country.

“We are working with tour operators and with airline lines and of course with the Madrid embassy in Mexico so that this direct flight is consolidated. We have to sell to this city not as Mazatlan but as a region to be more attractive to them, ”he said.

Benítez Torres explained that during his travels it has become clear that there are still doubts about the location of Mazatlan, which is why more resources have to be allocated for international and even national advertising.

“Many here in Mexico do not know Mazatlan, even on some of my trips they have asked me where Mazatlan is located in the Gulf or in the Pacific, to that extent!” He said.
