The gastronomic exhibition ‘Mazatlan in the heart of Mexico’ is postponed for the first quarter of 2020

Mazatlan.- At a press conference the Chemical Mayor Benitez Torres; Poncho Lizárraga, Leader of the Banda El Recodo and David González Torrentera, Secretary of Tourism and Fisheries Economic Development, announced the coordinated work that will be carried out to promote the port at the next International Tourism Fair 2020 to be held in Madrid, Spain, in January next and it is the biggest event in the world in the matter.

The objective of the promotion is to put Mazatlan in the eyes of the world and to seek business with European tour operators, so that through a direct flight Madrid-Mazatlan the market opens for our port, said the Municipal President.

“We want to bring tourism to Mazatlan that is the objective (…) we are going to Fitur, but we are not going to show ourselves anything else, we are working to make important closures there with tour operators (…) what we have to do is sell ourselves not as Mazatlan, as a region to be more attractive to them, ”he said.

The Mayor thanked the disposition of the Lizárraga family, so that the Banda El Recodo, being a music institution in Mazatlan, in Mexico and the world, joins the promotion of the port without charging a single peso for their work.

On the other hand, the Secretary of Economic Development, Tourism, and Fisheries of Mazatlan informed that due to agenda situations the gastronomic show “Mazatlan in the heart of Mexico” scheduled for the 23rd and 24th of this month in the Zócalo of the CDMX is postponed until the first quarter of 2020.

“There is a group called Torch Campesina that requested to have a demonstration on the 24th in the CDMX socket (…) denying it represented the risk of going and ruining the event, after talking a lot it is decided to postpone this event, we are in coordination with the people of Mexico City defining the best date, ”he said.

They thanked the support of restaurants, merchants, entrepreneurs and others involved in the project, which is still standing, in coordination with the Government of Mazatlan and the Banda El Recodo and will be held next year, probably after Carnival.
