Mazatlan, Sinaloa.- The tourist boom continues for Mazatlan: the growth of tourist arrivals and hotel occupancy continues to increase, tourism agents in the city acknowledged.
José Gámez Valle, director of Marketing of the Association of Hotels and Tourism Companies, AHyET, stressed that Mazatlan will again exceed the average percentage of national occupation during this year.
“The occupations of the destiny have gone up for three years, with this one (2019) we have already exceeded the national average in occupation and we are still going up; the national average was 62 percent averaged annually, this year we are going to be closing between 65 and 67 per story, five percentage points above the national average is not easy, ”he emphasized.
For his part, the president of the Tres Islas Hotels Association, José Ramón Manguart Sánchez, stressed that the expectations for the winter season are good, as the growth of two percentage points is planned for this year, reaching an occupation 63 percent for the season.
Given this, the Undersecretary of Tourism of the State, Monica Coppel Tirado, agreed on the data given by tourism agents in the port.
“Just as this year has been the best summer season and year-round, it will definitely be the best winter season.”
The state official stressed that by the end of the year the destination’s air connectivity will grow 10 percentage points compared to last year.
