A Midsummer Night’s Dream in Mexico City

1648

The courtyards, hallways, staircases, and roofs of different tenements in Mexico City will be the stages where the adaptation in contemporary dance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, by William Shakespeare, will take place.

It is a staging that is part of the project Tenements, created by the choreographer Vicente Silva Sanjinés, with the support of the Culture Secretariat and of the National Institute of Fine Arts and Literature (INBAL), through which we aim to offer an incentive and cause social impact among the families and neighbors of the places where the dance act takes place.

The project will continue through June, July, August, and September, months when it will tour across 24 tenements located in the streets of Mesones, Salvador Díaz Mirón, Manuel Carpio, Emilio Castelar, Gutiérrez Nájera, Allende, Córdoba, Flores Alley, Golfo de Bengala, Campeche, as well as Lago Colhue, Tercera Privada de Ignacio Allende, República de Cuba y Nezahualcóyotl, among others, to offer 40 stagings in total.
