Mazatlan Sinaloa. – Summer vacations are close, and the hotel sector forecasts a 2 percent increase in occupancy compared to last year.

The Mazatlán-Durango highway continues to benefit the port, especially the hotel sector, which expects occupancy between 88 and 90 percent during July, and close August with 72 percent, detailed Manguart Sánchez.

The hotel manager commented that if Mazatlan wishes to continue with a good tourist influx, it is necessary that visitors find the city as it was shown for the Tourism Tianguis, since that is the destination that the agencies sell.

Last year, during summer vacations, the city received 686 thousand 013 tourists, of the 974 thousand 530 that visited Sinaloa, 38 percent more than in 2017.
The economic flow throughout the state was 3 thousand 293 million pesos.

Join efforts

On the fact of using a percentage of the Lodging Tax to start up the congresses and conventions office, Manguart Sánchez pointed out that it is necessary to join efforts, supporting with greater connectivity the International Convention Center.

Therefore, it is necessary that more actors participate in the flight committees. The lodging tax is to promote the destination for all segments, he added.
