35 thousand more Canadians to visit Mazatlan

Mazatlan.- In the Tianguis Turístico 2019, celebrated recently in Acapulco, Guerrero, contracts for this destination of sun and beach, new air connectivity from the main cities of Canada, which would bring an increase of up to 35 thousand tourists a year, revealed the mayor Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres.

The mayor announced that thanks to the coordination of the state government, the arrival of six flights belonging to the most important airlines in that country, as well as the permanence throughout the year of those who visited cyclically the city.

“This is very much for us because they are people with a high purchasing power, who would come from eastern Canada,” he added.

He added that starting on August 8, the company Viva Aerobús will open the Tijuana-Mazatlán flight, with a price of 1,800 pesos plus taxes, which will increase the flow of visitors from that border and even from California, United States.

He stressed that Mazatlan, where the waves break, is the only tourist destination in the country that has been qualified by surveys, as clean, offering more amenities and is growing rapidly, a fact that sparked interest in the largest event for tour operators in the country.

However, he commented that, to sell it better, he instructed the Secretary of Economic Development, Tourism and Fisheries, David González Torrentera, so that by the end of this month he has ready the program of cultural, sports, artistic and recreational events to be carried out in the course of the year, as well as the following, to send it to the country’s tourism promoters.
