Mazatlan, Sinaloa.- The Navy Secretariat of Mexico requested the municipal government to support a plot of at least one hectare to install a military base for the National Guard in Mazatlan, revealed José de Jesús Flores Segura.
The Secretary of the City of Mazatlan said that according to the official letter, they are looking for a broader area where the gendarmerie may be, and it is also good news because there would be a base here in the town.
The municipal official specified that the land must have a strategic location with the appropriate accesses to connect with the different sectors of the city, in addition to other characteristics that for reasons of security can not be revealed.
“I understand that they are looking for it on the north side, exit to Culiacán, in those parts so that it has access, services and above all that is in line with the mobility of its units,” he explained.
Flores Segura said that the agreement was made so that this year they begin to work with the gendarmerie in Mazatlan, and the whole country, in order to reinforce security actions for the good of the citizens.
