Local tenants and authorities of the City Council and Profeco meet to define prices for fish and seafood this Easter.

Culiacán, Sin.- An increase of 10 pesos to fish for this Lent was agreed between tenants, Profeco and the City of Culiacán.

Joaquin Quintero Esparza, president of the Garmendia Market Locator Union, explained that there is competition for fish with buyers from the Guadalajara market who are taking most of the production and at a better price.

He noted that the sea bass rises 160 pesos per kilogram while the snapper remains at 130 pesos.

Other fish such as mojarra or tilapia remain at 60 pesos per kilogram while the large curvina weighs 80 pesos.

The tenants must place the list of official prices in view of the clients and respect them.
