Government of Mexico, issues the following notice: COLD FRONT No. 37 AND CURRENT IN SUBTROPICAL JET, FAVORIZE THE POTENTIAL OF RAINS VERY STRONG TO HEAVY, POTENTIAL OF SNOW OR FLOODING AND STRONG WINDS IN THE NORTHWEST OF THE COUNTRY

For today, the mass of air that impelled the frontal system No. 36 will modify its thermal characteristics, favoring the gradual increase of the diurnal temperature in great part of Mexico, as well as event of “surada” in Tamaulipas and Veracruz. On the other hand, at the end of the night the cold front No. 37 in Baja California is expected, in combination with the strong humidity intake caused by the subtropical jet stream., will originate potential of very strong storms to intense punctuations in Baja California and Sonora; possible fall of snow or sleet in mountainous areas of Baja California, Sonora and Chihuahua. Wind is also expected with gusts exceeding 80 km / h in Baja California and greater than 60 km / h in Sonora, Chihuahua, Sinaloa and Coahuila, as well as waves of 2 to 3 m in height on the western coast of Baja California.Precipitation forecast for today February 14, 2019:

Very strong to punctual storms (75 to 150 mm)
 : Baja California. 
Strong storms to very strong punctures (50 to 75 mm) : Sonora. 
Intervals of showers (5.1 to 25 mm) : Chihuahua, Oaxaca, Chiapas and Quintana Roo. 
Isolated rains (0.1 to 5.0) : Baja California Sur, Veracruz, Tabasco, Campeche and Yucatan. 

Snow or sleet potential:  Sierra de Baja California, Sonora and Chihuahua. 

Due to significant accumulations in Baja California, there may be the possibility of landslides on unstable slopes.

Temperatures lower than -5 ° C:  Sierras de Baja California, Chihuahua and Durango. 
Temperatures of -5 to 0 ° C:  Sierras de Sonora, Coahuila, Nuevo Leon, Zacatecas, San Luis Potosi, Tlaxcala and State of Mexico. 
Temperatures from 0 to 5 ° C:  Sierras de Michoacán, Guanajuato, Aguascalientes, Queretaro, Hidalgo and Puebla.

Pacific Center:  Partly cloudy skies, hot weather during the day and west wind from 10 to 25 km / h.

South Pacific:  Partly cloudy sky with intervals of showers in Oaxaca and Chiapas. Banks of fog in mountainous areas. Warm atmosphere in the afternoon. North wind with gusts exceeding 40 km / h in the Isthmus and Gulf of Tehuantepec.

Gulf of Mexico:  Partly cloudy sky with isolated rains in Veracruz and Tabasco. Fog banks in mountain areas. Temperate environment during the day and “surada” event with gusts that can exceed 50 km / h on the coast of Tamaulipas and Veracruz.

Yucatan Peninsula:  Partly cloudy skies with intervals of showers in Quintana Roo, as well as isolated rains in the rest of the region. Warm atmosphere during the day and east and northeast wind from 20 to 35 km / h.

Mesa del Norte:  Cloudy sky with intervals of showers in Chihuahua. Cold environment with possible snow or sleet fall in mountain areas of Chihuahua. West component wind from 15 to 30 km / h with gusts that can exceed 60 km / h in Chihuahua and Coahuila.
