Because of the closure of the lots where they parked during their visit to Mazatlan, foreign tourists choose to travel to other destinations.

Mazatlan, Sinaloa.- Before the season visits of foreign tourists, are the RVs which have chosen not to stop in Mazatlan.

In the city there is a limited number of spaces for these RV vehicles that bring with them tourist couples or complete families.

The only RV parks for those who decide to travel are Isla de La Piedra, Celestino Gasca in San Ignacio or the beaches of Teacapán in Escuinapa.

There are only three RV parks in Mazatlan

We have RVers of American and Canadian caravans, but unfortunately, in the Mazatlan there is only one active park trailer in Playa Brujas.

Ricardo Picos Quintero, head of the Angeles Verdes corporation of Sinaloa.

Those who decide to stop in Mazatlan, lament the great competition that represents Guadalajara, a state that has improved this type of facilities for the traveling sector.

From ten years to date, the overnight stay from five to six has been null, compared to the demand generated in the RV lots located on Avenida Camarón Sábalo, Avenida Rafael Buelna and Zona Dorada.

“They also decide to go to the Isla de la Piedra, but from there they report lacking facilities or comfort, so we see them decide to go to other states that connect with the Super Highway,” he added.

For his part, José Ramón Manguart Sánchez, president of the association Tres Islas Hotels acknowledged that this segment was neglected, due to factors such as fuel increases and profitability problems.

“They stopped being a trailer park and built other types of businesses, companies or spaces. Like the traditional La Posta, which is now Soriana. We see a lot about four mobile homes that arrive and see us roll by the port, “he recalled.

In these days, it is expected that the RV tourism will increase by around 60%, i due to the Carnival period to be developed from February 27 to March 5.

Mazatlan had a boom in the 80s and 90s, however, RV tourism is down. Regretted José Manguart
