To celebrate the week of the “Vallarta Pride”, which will be held from May 20 to 26 this year, it is expected that more than 25 thousand foreign and national tourists from the LGBT sector visit this coastal municipality, a figure that would surpass the previous editions where Up to 17 thousand people were received .
The above was mentioned by Héctor Ramírez Betancourt, member of the LGBT Vallarta Collective and part of the organizing committee of this event. “Teto”, as it is popularly known, said that with the assistance of this sector, the port will activate its economy, especially the shops, restaurants, condominiums and hotels of the Zona Romantica.
In that sense, Ramírez Betancourt said that the slogan of this seventh edition is “Love Included” (love included). “At the end of the day what we are looking for is love, roughly between people and yes we seek equality and respect, obviously through love, that is what is sought”, he reiterated.
He said that it is possible to have the presence of the singer Gloria Trevi as “Grand Marshall” or ambassador of the event, just as it did in the 2018 edition of the actress and singer Lorena Herrera. “It is still in plans and negotiations, it is still waiting,” he said.
He added that for the “pride” of this 2019 it is thought to place colored flags throughout the tourist strip, in addition to painting streets and spaces of Puerto Vallarta with the colors of the rainbow, so to do it has already requested authorization to the municipal government.
“Authorization was requested on that date to put banners throughout the tourist area and to light up as in the big cities of the world, both the arches of the boardwalk and the horse for Vallarta Pride. It is also putting in many cities painted pedestrian crossings, then with the flag of the rainbow we will indicate that we are inclusive and that here we respect diversity in Puerto Vallarta, “he said.
So far the activities confirmed during the Vallarta Pride are; on May 22 “Movie Night and Pink Dinner” on May 22, “Pride Parade” (pride parade), “Block Party” (party on the street) on the 23rd, “Beach Party” (party on the beach) , “Drag Derby” (career in heels) on the 24th, “Broadway Bars White Party” on the 25th and 26th “Farrewell Pool Party” (farewell party at the pool).
