Jesús Javier García Crespo, a member of La Chapiza, was formally charged and remanded to CEFERESO 13 in Oaxaca for his alleged participation in the abduction of six members of a family from Ixtlahuaca, State of Mexico, who were taking a tourist trip on rented RZR vehicles along Sábalo-Cerritos Avenue in Mazatlán on February 3. Pickup trucks carrying armed men blocked their path and forced them out at gunpoint.

Days later, a woman and her 9-year-old daughter were released, but the four men—Javier, Gregorio, Omar Alexis Ramírez Sabino, and Óscar García Hernández—remain missing seven months later. Four young men who had only gone on vacation to Mazatlán and never returned home. Their relatives’ reports triggered road blockades in the State of Mexico and mass protests in Mexico City demanding intervention from the authorities.

Military intelligence determined that the order was issued by a commander identified as “El 80,” with the operation carried out by Misael Guerrero Pérez, “El Güero Pin,” who is responsible for the southern region of Sinaloa. García Harfuch reinforced the operational deployment along the coastal area while authorities continue the active search for the four young men from the State of Mexico.

How many more families have to be abducted in the middle of Mazatlán’s tourist zone before Sinaloa acknowledges that tourism in the state has become a Russian roulette where you can end up missing simply for going on vacation? 🧐🚩
