A Canadian citizen was shot and killed on Saturday, August 8, 2026, during an apparent robbery in the rural community of El Quelite, located north of the coastal city of Mazatlán, Sinaloa.

According to official police reports, the fatal incident occurred around 4:00 p.m. along a dirt road leading toward the nearby village of El Chapotal. Preliminary investigation details indicate that the victim was attacked by a resident who allegedly broke into the victim’s motorhome (RV) to steal personal belongings stored inside.

Nearby residents reported hearing multiple gunshots before discovering the victim had been mortally wounded at the scene.
