After the discovery was publicized, federal forces, investigative police, and search personnel arrived at the site, though no official statement has been released.

Concordia, Sinaloa (March 1, 2026) – The collective Por las Voces Sin Justicia (For Voices Without Justice) reported the discovery of a new clandestine grave in the community of El Verde, Concordia, during a search operation carried out this Sunday, March 1.

On Thursday, February 26, prospecting work was carried out in this same area in coordination with the National Search Commission, with the objective of collecting evidence related to the possible location of human remains.

In a video shared on their social media, members of the collective stated that, after confirming the positive location, they requested assistance from the 911 emergency number, but initially, they said, they were denied assistance because it was private property.

However, after the material was released, authorities arrived at the site, including the State Attorney General’s Office, members of the Army, and the Investigative Police.

No official information had been released by any authority regarding the discovery or the procedures carried out at the site.

Through their social media accounts, the collective described how the search unfolded, “accompanied” by personnel from the Sinaloa State Commission for the Search of Missing Persons, the Sinaloa Undersecretariat for Human Rights, and the National Defense Secretariat.

According to the testimony shared by the collective, the search took place in what they described as a tense atmosphere. They stated that institutional personnel attempted to dictate how they searched the property, how they searched, and how they organized their work. This created an environment of pressure that they considered unnecessary and detrimental to the necessary coordination between authorities and collectives.

The members stated that the positive discovery was achieved almost entirely on their own and that, once they informed the authorities to move forward and continue the work, they were denied the support of machinery to access the property.

They added that, while requesting this support, the authorities remained several kilometers away from the site, outside the property, demonstrating a lack of willingness to expedite the search efforts.

The group described the institutional response as outrageous, considering that, even when it comes to locating missing persons, egos, control, and political decisions are prioritized over the humanitarian emergency.

The community of El Verde has become a key location for the discovery of clandestine graves in Concordia.

Before this latest discovery, four graves had already been located in the same area, from which 14 bodies were recovered; ten of them were found in a single grave.

In addition, five of the victims were identified as the miners who were kidnapped on January 23 in the same municipality.
