A well-known doctor in the town of Costa Rica was shot and killed inside his own office after allegedly refusing to treat a civilian with gunshot wounds.
According to initial reports to the 911 emergency number of the Public Security Secretariat, the incident occurred in the town center when armed men arrived at the doctor’s private practice and demanded he treat an injured person. When the doctor refused, the assailants shot him repeatedly, killing him at the scene.
The victim was identified as Manuel “E,” approximately 30 years old, who was wearing black dress pants and a blue shirt at the time of the attack.
The area was cordoned off by personnel from the State Attorney General’s Office, who are conducting the corresponding investigation.
