Heavy rains caused by Tropical Storm Raymond in southern Sinaloa caused two lagoons to overflow in the municipality of El Rosario, landslides in Mazatlán, and several avenues were closed due to accumulated water.

State Civil Protection (PC) warned that this Saturday will be partly cloudy to cloudy skies with high temperatures of 30 to 35 degrees Celsius (86 to 95 degrees Fahrenheit), with a high probability of thunderstorms across most of the state, accumulations of 50 to 75 millimeters (2 to 3 inches), and waves of 2.5 to 3.5 meters (8 to 11 feet) in coastal municipalities.

In El Rosario, the PC reported that the Iguanero lagoons overflowed, affecting homes in the Calderón and Zacatecas neighborhoods, and flooding in backyards in low-lying areas, which were pumped out by the National Water Commission.

In Mazatlán, the tourist avenues Cruz Lizárraga, Reforma, Juan Carrasco, and Gutiérrez Nájera were closed due to heavy water accumulation and landslides on Paseo Centenario.

Meanwhile, the State DIF announced that due to the rains and following the recommendation of Civil Protection, they changed the date of the fundraising event between Venados and Tomateros teams scheduled for October 12 to November 28.

Meanwhile, Governor Rubén Rocha Moya suspended an event scheduled to inaugurate the stormwater pumping and drainage sump, which began operating during the rains this morning, preventing the Camarón Sábalo tourist avenue from flooding.

Foto
