In order to provide greater security for women and support them as quickly as possible in the event of a violent incident, the Municipal Government launched the Mujer SeguraMZT app, which can be downloaded to their cell phones, announced Estrella Palacios Domínguez.
The mayor commented that this tool aims to provide Mazatlán women with a more immediate response from authorities in the event of a risky situation.
She indicated that for this new security program, four patrol cars have been assigned to respond to emergency calls from women, and officers will be dispatched immediately to respond to emergencies.
“This is an app that everyone can use if they feel vulnerable and can receive a prompt response from municipal authorities.”
She emphasized that preventive officers are also being trained in gender perspective so they know how to handle these cases involving women.
The mayor noted that officers are constantly training, especially on human rights issues, in order to have more and better police officers.
Regarding the new app, the mayor explained that it can be downloaded to cell phones. They must enter their personal information. Once registered, a button appears that they can press for three seconds in case of an emergency, and they will receive a response from the preventive officers.
