Meetings tourism in Sinaloa has positioned the state as a leading destination nationwide, thanks to its existing and continuing infrastructure, as well as its first-class air connectivity and diverse tourism offerings, which have allowed it to host 86 conferences so far this year.

This was highlighted by the state’s Secretary of Tourism, Mireya Sosa Osuna, who, in reviewing the situation, said that from January to August of this year, there was a 5 percent increase in the number of attendees at events held in different cities in Sinaloa, compared to the same period in 2024.

Therefore, she considered that the meetings industry segment strengthens regional economic development and promotes innovation, sustainability, and collaboration between strategic sectors.

“In Sinaloa, we are committed to developing personalized experiences, strengthening its infrastructure, and working together with the private sector to consolidate ourselves as a world-class destination in the meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions segment.”

The head of Sectur Sinaloa stated that during the first eight months of 2025, 86 events were held, attracting 133,236 attendees, while in the same period of 2024, there were 53 events and 126,910 attendees, representing a 5 percent increase.

Culiacán stands out for its hotel infrastructure, with more than 3,000 rooms in 3- to 5-star categories and more than 80 event spaces, with capacities ranging from 3,000 to 20,000 people.

Furthermore, the Culiacán International Airport strengthens the city’s connectivity and accessibility, positioning it as one of the main business and development centers in northwestern Mexico.

Mazatlán, for its part, has established itself as a pillar of conference tourism in Sinaloa.

The Mazatlán International Center, with more than 10,000 square meters of event space and a capacity for 4,500 people, is one of the most prominent venues in the northwest of the country. It also includes alternative venues such as the Great Mazatlán Sea of Cortez Aquarium (1,200 people), the 1873 Observatory (500), the Ángela Peralta Theater (800), the National Whale Museum (250 people), the Shekinah Beach Club (800 people), the El Encanto soccer stadium (25,000), and the Teodoro Mariscal Stadium (16,000).
