The Mazatlán Civil Protection Coordination reported the preventive closure of La Marina Avenue, at the intersection with Rafael Buelna Avenue, and also on Reforma Avenue, near the Grand Plaza.

Óscar Roberto Osuna Tirado reported that the rainfall generated flooding in at least seven locations throughout the city. This rise in the level of the storm caused 17 vehicles to become stranded. 17 people were also transported to their homes and/or a safe place.

On International Avenue near Cervantes College, in the Benito Juárez neighborhood; at the intersection of Insurgentes and Ejército Mexicano avenues; and López Mateos avenues.

During the patrol, Civil Protection personnel treated and removed a fallen tree in a neighborhood, and also cordoned off the area where an electrical transformer was damaged by wind and rain.

Through social media, it was reported that support was provided to a family stranded in their vehicle on La Marina Avenue; they were transported to a safe location.

On Camarón-Sábalo Avenue, support was provided on multiple occasions. Near the Sábalo Country neighborhood, a family was trapped in their vehicle, and a tourist family needed assistance to be transported to their hotel.

On that same avenue, near the Conapesca (National Commission for the Protection of Persons with Disabilities), a driver was assisted in getting his stranded vehicle out.

Canals

Regarding the storm drains, the one that runs through the El Toreo subdivision finally overflowed its banks, closing traffic in that area. The Jabalines Creek, in the Jacarandas subdivision, was reported to be 50 percent full.

Eroded and Trash-Covered Beaches

Meanwhile, several stretches of beach in the Golden Zone suffered erosion due to the intense waves recorded as a result of climatic phenomena in the Pacific Ocean.

Also, with the intensity of the rain, trash washed off coastal roads is ending up on the beaches.

The forecast for Sunday is for clear to partly cloudy skies with temperatures ranging between 34 and 38 degrees Celsius, with an increase in the chance of rain expected during the afternoon.
