Mazatlán Raid Nets Arrest and Seizure of Illegal Weapons and Vehicles

A joint operation between naval personnel, the Mexican Army, National Guard, and state security agencies in Mazatlán has resulted in the arrest of a civilian and the seizure of illicit weapons, explosives, and stolen vehicles.

During aerial and ground reconnaissance to dismantle makeshift camps in the towns of La Noria and El Placer, naval personnel were ambushed by armed individuals. Despite the attack, they successfully apprehended a suspect.

The operation also led to the confiscation of 5 stolen vehicles and 2 disabled vehicles. A significant cache of illicit materials was seized, including long-range firearms, magazines, ammunition, improvised explosive devices, marijuana-like material, and tactical equipment.

The seized items have been handed over to the Attorney General’s Office for further investigation and determination of responsibility. The operation highlights the collaborative efforts between security agencies in Mazatlán to combat organized crime and maintain public safety.
