In recent days, the Mazatlán City Council has started several public works related to hydrosanitary infrastructure and paving, however, in at least five projects it was found that there are no guarantees of legality.
Article 21 of the Public Works Law of the State of Sinaloa indicates that for the programming of the works there must be documentation that guarantees the legal possession, expropriation, donation or acquisition of the land or the use of the right of way, but when reviewing the Municipality’s annual program it is observed that this is not the case.
Due to this situation, the Municipality could receive a lawsuit against it for compensation for building on “foreign land.”
Recently this publishing house, in its weekly edition, published a note detailing the Annual Public Works Plan approved by the Mazatlán City Council and in which it was warned that they budgeted works that do not have legal certainty.
This practice has already been replicated in previous administrations, which has led to lawsuits found in the Commune for occupation of properties, or simply at the end of the year, the projects are removed from the plan, generating annoyance among the neighbors who would benefit from said works.
